Sarah Berman, aka SarahJoyScribe, is a New York-based calligrapher, illuminator, graphic designer, and photographer. She has a worldly aesthetic, and a special fondness for visual metaphor. She loves to use historical and traditional styles (not just Western but other traditions too—especially middle and east Asian) and techniques to express modern sentiments, usually with a generous helping of snark.

When not painting, calligraphing, designing, writing, or photographing, you can find her trying to pet your dog or cat.
