Hi, my name is Sarah.
I am a New York-based calligrapher, illuminator, graphic designer, and photographer, and generally artsy-creative type.
I have a worldly aesthetic and a special fondness for visual metaphor or pun (known in historical heraldry as a “cant”).
Did I mention I’m a huge history nerd? I love to use historical and traditional styles (not just Western but other traditions too—especially middle and east Asian) and techniques to express modern sentiments, usually with a generous helping of snark.
I also writes too—you can find her short story “Broken Glass/New 1933” published in Sixfold’s Winter 2024 short fiction compilation.
When not painting, calligraphing, designing, writing, or photographing, you can find me trying to pet your dog or cat.
